One cookie, and only if you say yes.
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages get read, and it only runs if you allow it. Decline, or ignore the banner, and nothing is stored on your device at all.

The short version
By default this site sets nothing on your device. If you click "Allow" on the banner, Google Analytics runs and sets its cookies so we can see which pages people read and where visitors come from. If you click "No thanks", no Google script is even loaded, and we won't ask again for a year.
The cookies, exactly
With consent, Google Analytics sets _ga and a _ga_* cookie for this site. They hold a random identifier, not your name or email, and last up to two years. We use the data to see which pages are read and which searches bring people here; we don't use it for advertising and we don't share it beyond Google's processing of it. Google's own explanation is at policies.google.com.
Change your mind
Your choice is stored in your browser and honoured on every visit. To change it:
We also honour Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends it, we don't ask and we don't track, full stop.
Third parties
The typeface loads from Google Fonts, so your browser makes a request to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com and those servers can see your IP address. They set no cookie.
Cloudflare, who host the site, keep standard server logs including IP addresses for security and abuse prevention. That's infrastructure rather than tracking, and it happens on any website you visit.
